Beaches in Split
Split has wonderful beaches. Prva voda, Lubinski porat, Bene, Kašuni, Kaštelet, Ježinac, and Zvončac are beaches around Marjan hill. Bačvice, Ovčice, Firule, Zenta, Trstenik, and Žnjan are beaches on the other side of the town. The entrance to all beaches is FREE. Swimming in the sea is possible on average 6 months a year. Split has lately become popular for windsurfing enthusiasts. Žnjan beach has proven to be the right choice when south wind is blowing, while Kaštelet beach is more appropriate during the mistral (a northwest wind, Croatian "maestral").
